My collection so far. Once I'm rich and famous I have to get my hands on a Breitling.

i almost bought a breitling....well i almost payed some of the money on one and my old man was going to pay the rest as a birthday present. i realllllllly want one so bad!

I love watches, too. However, I've cut back because of maintenance costs and because I have most of what I want.

The three I keep in regular rotation are a Sinn 656, Sinn 244Ti and an old gold 19J Zenith handwound on a brown lizard strap. If I'm in the mood, I'll put on an Accutron Spaceview with a green alligator strap.

I'm also looking for a military watch for the woods. I hesitate between a Swiss Army Garrison and a Seiko 5 military.

Okay, here's a noob question: What does a Rolex or Omega watch have that <1000$ (or even <500) watches don't have? I just don't get it.

History, a name, craftsmanship, etc. Can the price ever be justified? Heck no, never, but to me, my Submariner and Explorer II were worth it.

EDIT: It is also a finer thing in life. I enjoy watches because they used to be something of great value and importance (still are, but no longer seen that way by most people). I guess you could equate this to $90 Yardley. Is it three times better than Penhaligon's tallow soap? No, but to those who purchase it, it is worth it.

Rolex GMT Master:

I've got the same watch waited and waited for the new submariner and just ended up buying the GMT

Still want the Scrubmariner once it gets released , almost traded up for a stainless and gold version subby but that was a bit to tacky for a man of my tastes
