Watch Brand Suggestions?

I haven't worn a watch in years but I want to go back to them. I know in the era of cell phones being used as clock, the watch seems to be on it's way out. But it's much classier and quicker to check the wrist instead of pulling out the phone.

Anyhow, I am not sure what brands/styles are reliable, and hope to get something stylish & decently made.

Here is what I am looking for:
-something under $100.
-waterproof
-silver/metalic (not rubber or leather)
-reliable/rugged wristband
-traditional timepiece arms, not digital display
-long battery life

Any brand/model suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I can't recommend the Orient Mako high enough. It was recommended to me on this forum.

It meets all your requirements EXCEPT that it's mechanical/automatic so it doesn't need a battery AND it's $10 above your $100 budget shipped on eBay.

It's a sports (diving) watch but it's elegant enough for business apparrel too. (I have the Blue version which is about $10-15 more and I get frequent compliments on it's appearance.)

Go to Dealdoddy.com........Look at the SEIKO deal of the day.....Stay away from all the others in your price range....The others are most likely junk!
It is a new deal every day. I have bought a few $2,000.-$5,000. watches there. The price is right.

Wow, seems like Seiko is in pretty high regards, I'll definitely have to check out their 5 series. I'll take a look at the Orient Mako as well, I never considered seeking out a diving watch, but if they are designed to look good diving and with business attire, it's definitely an option. I like the waterproof part (as opposed to water resistant.)

I've had watches that were water resistant that died when I was caught in a torrential downpour and got soaked. Usually the watches I have retired have been because of the wrist band breaking, and even if I got it replaced it was never as good as the original band.

Check out citizen. They may be stretching your budget by $20ish but I love mine. I think I've taken it off maybe 3 times 10 months

Another vote for the Seiko 5. It is one of the toughest watches I have and it looks darn good. I have an Invicta that I got at Sam's Club of all places for about $120. It is a little on the bigger side, but looks good in a casual work attire (polo/slacks) and is water resistant down to 1,000 feet. Finally, I have a Timex that has definitely lived up to the motto "Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'" as I have had it since high school and it has been through every realm of hell-on-Earth I could throw at it and only shows some light scratches when held at the correct angle to the sun, otherwise not noticeable.

I do not think you will get a really decent watch within your price limit. If you can up your limit then you could buy a watch that you would never have to replace, and it would save you money in the long run!

Citizen, Seiko or Orient!!!

If all the features are relatively the same, I'd go with Orient to have a watch that is less common in the US than Seiko's and Citizens which are so widely distributed. I don't think there are any Orient's that are really UNDER $100 though.

I love Seiko, but a Timex is a viable option as well, for the price range.
