How do you guys do it? Will it be harsh on my skin to shave every single morning to maintain smoothness? I get a good shadow after about 3-4 days of no shaving, but stubbles start a day or two later.
That's probably up to you, plenty of guys shave every day without harshness. I shave every day and I do get some irritation on my neck, but I'm working on improving my technique and some other factors to deal with that.
But even when I have a BBS in the morning the shadow is back by dinnertime, and stubble by the next morning. If I skip a day I start getting shaggy.
It depends. My hair typically does not grow at a constant rate. Sometimes I need a shave every morning to keep smooth. Other times I wake up and could easily go another day and still be set. I think my fiance is the one who typically dictates how often I shave, she is torn at times between liking me looking a little scruffy and when I kiss her good bye in the morning the smell of TAOS Sandalwood on her upper lip.
I used to shave every 3 days or so. Now my technique is getting good enough to shave every day or other day. Just takes practice and figuring out what you face can tolerate.
i shaved last night about 7ish and can feel stubble all over right now. i usually shave every day and never encounter any irritation, but then again at least once a week i just skip a day because i dont feel like shaving that day or don't have time. i do know if i skip 2 days shaving then the shave gets more uncomfortable for me and takes way to long, my beard is insane
I usually shave every other day. I love the routine with DE shaving but it does take me more time to shave now. I don't rush through it like I did with carts. So honestly I just don't have time to shave everyday. Between family, friends, work full time, school full time, the gym etc... I just run out of time every single day.
I shave every day. I could shave every other day and still have a respectably shaven face but I shave every day anyway as this is what I always have done (except when I have a full beard)
Being retired I have the luxury of shaving when I want to, so I usually shave 2 or 3 times a week. Of course is something comes up where another is necessary, I wouldn't hesitate. I do find that the time between shaves allows for a much better shave when one is done.
Every other day works for me. Every 1.5 days would probably be optimal for looking presentable and good for my skin, but that's logistically not possible.
Every other day for me, meaning I shave on the third day. It is what I found is best for my face in most cases, today is the 3rd day and I had a great shave. Very close and slightly tender but no burn and came away with a BSS, was a hot shave today...normally I shave cold all the way through and was the first hot shave I have had in possibly a year as I find that it works great. But yes, experiment and use your own judgement your face will tell you.
I shave every night, not as a "need" to shave but rather a "want" to shave. I enjoy going to bed with a nice silky face, as does my wife. The cool soft skin keeps her hands and face entertained as she fades off to sleep. As far as regrowth, if I shave at say 9pm I begin to feel slight stubble around 1pm (16 hours later) and do not form any type of shadowing until the day after that.
Corporate suit & tie type so company policy dictates clean shaven (even though some of the younger blokes sport that man-scaped designer stubble look if it gets too scruffy I pull them up) so I'm an everyday shaver.
You CAN wetshave every day without irritation - for me it means a good, smooth razor/blade combo, perfect lather prep, the absolute best AS/post-shave routine and a 2 pass & touch up routine (WTG, WTG, touch up).
Chasing BBS every day just meant trouble for me...
After you get your technique down you should be able to shave every day without any problems. The first few weeks were rough for me, then I got the right razor, blade and learned how to lather. Now I look forward to the morning shave weather I need it or not.
