Vintage Skrip Ink

While prowling through an antique mall this past Sunday, I came across this at one of the vendor's booths:

It's a sealed, unused 16 oz. bottle of Skrip 516 Permanent Royal Blue ink. I couldn't find a price on it, so I asked the clerk to call the vendor for the information. It turns out that they had not one, but five identical bottles of Skrip stashed away on a back shelf, all in the original sealed boxes. They're asking $25 a bottle. I'm just curious if vintage ink like this is OK to use, and if so, is $25 a good price? I know I'd have to start writing a helluva lot more than I do now to even make a dent in a bottle that size!

Now half as wise
Not sure about the price, but it's fine to use. Even bottles that have been opened are fine as long as there are no particulates floating around.

Brian is the expert on bulk ink. I'm sure he'll be along soon enough!

That is great ink, I know Brian has crates of the stuff

But don't know about price either... that being said its sealed and local and 25 isn't all that much out of pocket, specially if you talk them down to 20

For would buy it $25, if only for the bottle. Then you get the ink, too. I have a few small bottles of vintage skrip and the ink is a pleasure to use.

Been doing some thinking and have come to the conclusion that even at $15, I really don't need or want that much ink. If anyone is interested and can make it to the Harrisburg/Carlisle, Pennsylvania area, drop me a PM and I'll give you the information on where to find it.

Thanks for the feedback and input, guys. You're all a fount(ain pen) of wisdom! :001_cool:

Sealed? Never used?! If you can get it down to $15, you may never have to buy a blue ink again!!! (yeah... funny right?)

I scored a half used bottle of Skrip Permanent Blue/Black for $5 a couple weeks ago. My pens are loving it!
