Vintage Gillette Advert... proper blade usage

I‘ve seen that one a couple of times. I’m no expert but I tend to believe it. An edge is quite fragile if you think about it. That’s the reason some blades have glue spot, to prevent it from bouncing around the paper cover.

These days, how often do you go to the store and buy a single blade and stick it into your pocket next to your lighter?

I laughed when I saw part of the video. I couldn't imagine a store selling single blades back then but maybe they did.

Blades back then where comparatively more expensive than they are now, being essentially the cartridge of their time (and proprietary with Gillette being the only manufacturer), so someone buying them one at a time sounds plausible, especially if they aren't financially well off.

Oh boy... I have to edit this. It is environmentally unsound to dispose used oil in a gravel pit. Just in case anyone has any ideas... don't do it, just because our grandfathers did it. They were not always smart...

Just recycle it right back to where it came from lol.

I didn't watch this video through yet, but there is another old Gillette ad with two guys camping and sharing the razor. I can't imagine doing that today.
