Vintage Chanel No. 5

So I pulled the trigger on a vintage bottle of Chanel No 5 for SWMBO. This is the "Parfum Extrait", the strongest concentration, and the original formula. Apparently it was reformulated two times from the original. Can't wait to give it to her this weekend. This vintage stuff is complex, and different than the Eau de Parfum spray. It has Rose oil and Jasmine from the Grasse region. I lucked out and got a bottle for $75. The box still had the cellophane wrapper on it. I checked it out, and the juice is still good! No wonder they call it "le monstre".

there was someone crazy enough to sell this for only $75?

I had emailed a seller that had one listed with a starting price of 89.99 that got no bids, and was not sealed in the box. She still had it and offered to do a BIN. I asked her what she had in mind, and mentioned that five other ones had sold in the past two weeks with an average price of 67.04. She promptly told me she would just re-list it and that my averages were not valid.

Two days later this one showed up with a bin of $75, shipping of $5, so I nabbed it. I felt pretty good since the outer cellophane was still there, and that meant it was kept away from light. I asked where she got it, and she had purchased the estate of a 90 year old woman that had come here from Estonia, and she found it in her dresser.

Needless to say, I am very happy with the purchase, and feel incredibly lucky.
