Very Mild Flair Tip

Has anyone else experienced an EXTREMELY mild shave from a flair tip? Going from a Merkur HD to a flair tip, I can't believe how mild the shave is. I did a two pass (WTG XTG) pass this morning ... and will have to shave again in the morning which is crazy. The Merkur seemed to shave closer ... but also cause more irritation. So maybe the Flair tip is just in need of multiple passes whereas the merkur just needs two?

I like the mildness cause it causes little to no redness, just need it to shave closer.

I have an old flair tip that is very very forgiving. It's not tame, it gives me a very close shave, just in my experience it has been very smooth and forgiving.

hmmm thats good to know. Im sure I can get a great shave with this razor ... part of my "needing to shave more regularly" with the flair tip could be that as a relative newb ... I haven't added an ATG or a second XTG pass to the routine as of yet.

I'm with you...more often than not I do one pass with touch up work and thats it. Been shaving this way for 30 years, it's a tough habit to break.

Eventually I will move on to 2 and 3 pass shaves, but for now I'll stick with one and just try to get my technique down.

With three passes & a sharp blade, the flairtip always gives me a very close shave, not a problem at all go go BBS without any irritation if a use a Feather or Gillette Bleue.

Of course, with a one pass + touchup, it's very hard (for me impossible) to get a close shave.
