Veggy low fat lather

So if you had to, and I know most dont want to, but if you had to pic just veggy soaps and creams, what would you pic.

I ll start I think Klar's is not bad at all.

Your turn?

There are many fantastic veggie soaps. A few that come to mind for me are. Klar, Dr.Dittmar, Gold Dachs, Calani, La Toja, Pre de Provence, Provence Sante, Savon du Midi, L'Occitane Cade, and Martin de Candre.

I don't use tallow products, and I have many high-quality soaps and creams in my rotation. Plus, I've rejected many more that don't meet my standards.

In my current rotation:

Valobra menthol
Valobra almond
Institut Karite
RazoRock King Louis
RazoRock Muguet de France
Castle Forbes lime
Martin de Candre
I Coloniali

Plus, there are others I haven't yet tried, including Pre de Provence, Calani, Savon du Midi, and Klar Kabinett.

There are many veggie options out there.

La Toja and VDH Luxury are already in my rotation. I think they are the only non-tallow soaps I use, but they perform right up with the others I use.

Martin de Candre & eShave Avocado & Linden leave the rest of the tallow deficient soaps in the dust.

IF you want a total of 4 I'll toss in La Toja and Cade because they smell great, but they don't perform as well.

None of the rest are worth buying.

So there is life without tallow after-all. I'll be jiggered. Has anyone shared this with Geo F. Trumper? I think they could use a few pointers on how to make a "luxury" shave soap sans tallow.

Klar, Calani and La Toja are all top soaps, not just top-veggie ones.

:lol: I was thinking that too when I first tried Calani; and it is not just Trumper either but most of that entire island is reformulating like crazy. I just hope D.R.Harris is keeping his soaps the way they are so we have at least one left (though their 'naturals' isn't much either).

Cade! Cade! Cade! Lathers quite well for me, and even more importantly really helps with ingrowns ( I get 'em from my shirt collar rubbing against my neck, this keeps them at bay)

Great thread - some of these I haven't seen mentioned before, so they'll have to go on my list to try.

I've been using a La Toja stick while traveling, and it's been just great. Haven't been able to find confirmation that the glycerin is veggie-based, though.

I haven't found a great list of vegetarian/vegan soaps (other than threads like this one), so I'm thinking about putting one together and getting it up on the wiki. Should have some free time this week to get it started.
