Has anyone used this? How does it differ from Deluxe? Curious because there is some of this at a local pharmacy and I am thinking of picking some up. It is white.

It's pretty similar to the Deluxe, but I didn't like it as much. The lather I got from it was not as good as the Deluxe, and ultimately I used it as a shower soap.
It's cheap, though, and some guys really like it, so you could try it and see what you think without being out too much scratch.

Does Select smell the same as Deluxe? That for me is the key issue.
Select doesn't smell like Deluxe to me. Select has more of 'plain, clean, soapy' smell, I think.
They have the same smell, but the deluxe seems to have more of it.
I'm going to agree with this one. I don't think they are exactly the same, but are pretty dern close.
I'm using the select right now, I just melted it into a mug I had lying around. I like it just fine, works very well. I picked up a puck of Deluxe yesterday though that I might try tomorrow.
If in doubt, just buy it anyways. Worst that could happen is you are out a couple bucks on a soap that you don't like.

just used some select this morning, i tend to use all soaps a little on the runny side and with a scuttle since i have switched over to straights. that said i really don't think i can find any fault at all with this soap and actually it seems have a slicker quality than some of the quality tallows i was leaning toward for a while. i really cant call it cheap, more like extremely well valued!
