i found a cased NEW long comb with a thin handle. new, with all gold plating, and the original blades in the gold plated blade case. the only thing is, its missing the cap to the blade case. he wants 45.00. good deal? i could probably talk him down if i had to

To me it seems a little high. You might want to try BST section of this site.
Check to make sure, but I think the thin handle is rare. Cased, original blades, plating intact all good - Missing cap on blade case, not so ----- I'd say a tad high at $45, but not all that far out of line - do you need it to fill a specific place in your collection? I guess I'd see if he'd take $30. Good luck!

its not filling a specific spot, though i love the NEWs. its going to go in my gun safe, but i dont want to get robbed on it. im gonna offer him 30. its been sitting there for a while.
