Valobra Stick Scent

Does anyone know if Valobra Shave stick smells like, say, MWF (or any other soap)? I don't have access to Valobra stick locally, and I wanted to get a consensus on the scent before ordering online

It's a very clean scent to be honest, very light. You won't be dissapointed with the stick, think Musgo Real but more crisp if that makes sense.

I seem to detect a light gardenia (?) scent with mine..

I'm about 10 shaves into my first Valobra stick.
IMHO it is very, very mildly scented.

Maybe a slight almond scent, or Amaretto?
Not like the pure, clean, soapy scent of MWF.

One member has said "vanilla ice cream", but I didn't get that impression.

The performance is great. Thick, rich, tallowy lather.
I did find it harder/firmer in texture, which made it more troublesome to use, compared to other sticks I've used (Speick and Palmolive), so I grated it into a bowl. Easier to lather that way for me.

I'll be buying it again when it's time.

I tend to get shave sticks/ soaps and sell them after a few uses to try them but Valobra is the only item I have ever used and sort of regretted selling other than Cella. I will buy some time in the future.

It smells clean & soapy to me. Actually, the scent of Proraso red (wheat germ) reminds me of Valobra.
You cant miss ordering blind on this one I dont think :001_smile

Thanks for the replies everyone, looks like I'll be placing an order. Colonial Drug has the Valobra soft soaps, but they didn't have the stick the last time I was there. The main reason I asked if it smells like MWF is because MWF's scent actually gives me headaches :mad3:.

Funny because that's where I bought my Valobra...

It is their light Fougere scent. I have a bar of the Valobra Fougere bath soap and the shaving stick is the same fragrance, just much lighter.

In other news, if you really like the scent then pick up a bar of the Valobra Fougere bath soap*.

*sorry, my shop is not currently carrying the bath soap

I'm the vanilla ice cream guy :tongue_sm. For all practical purposes the soap is "unscented" to me - meaning it just smells the ingredients used to make the soap. However, whilst lathering and after it is lathered I get just the subtlest hint of vanilla ice cream. Quick someone pass the chocolate.

Whatever the case, I think the general consensus is this soap has little to no scent, rarely offends anyone's olfactory senses, and produces thick, slick, and regal lather

Vanilla bean or golden vanilla?

Joking of course. Thanks for your detailed reply Jeremy.

Ah, so they must regularly carry it then? Either they were out of it that day, or I'm blind and missed it when I was in the store. I'll be around there this Friday to see what the deal is. I already ordered it, but it's good that I can get the stick locally in the future.

I am not sure, as when I bought mine I bought the last one. Last time I went in there they had erasmic and palmolive sticks but didn't notice Valobra. I just happened to take a quick glance, I do know they have the creams though for sure.

I understand the ice cream thing. The scent is so light but there is a sweetnes to it. I love this soap. I have always had really nice shaves when I use it.
