Using a puck as a stick?

I'm getting a hard time getting enough lather in my Simpson Case when face lathering of a puck of soap (Olivia's Seife). Never have that problem when using a soap stick. Does any of you use a puck as a stick applied on the beard? The advantage I think also is the hot brush not yet cooled by loading the soap.

Never tried it, but I imagine it could work if it is a soft enough soap (not a triple milled sort). Might get slippery though!

I did that with Godrej Shaving Round; works great.

I have been blathering on about using pucks as sticks for a while but I think most people thought I was mad! I have been enjoying a Simpsons Chubby 2 2-band but it does need a lot of soap and has very soft tips. And I live in a hard water area!

The solution for me has been to rub the puck on a wet face or load the brush once for each quarter of my face during the initial lathering stage. Using the puck as a stick does have a lot of advantages, as you point out. In particular, you get enough soap very quickly AND you get plenty of water quickly (as you don't need a dry brush to load up with soap). I think it works really well. Of course, as the puck starts to change shape you may have to mill it into a shave stick container.

Works great, I agree. The original title of the post really threw me for a loop, though -- having just finished watch Olympic hockey and all...

Yes, I have and it works great.

At different times, I've done this, too. Worked well.

I do this quite often and it works great. :thumbup1:

I have done it. It worked fine.

The consensus is ... using a puck as a stick (in shaving, not hockey) works great. Oh, and chicken neck is mad! :tongue_sm

+1, albeit with a little trial + error. It seems easier on my head than my face.

But more importantly, it's fun.
