unknown shaving brush any ideas?

hi newbie here recently baught a shaving set for the second hand shop £2.50 which i think is a bargain but there is no brand name on the set and was curious to see if anyone can tell me what kind of bristles are on the brush i think it might be badger but not sure as ive never owned one before, any help would be much appreciated

Well I can see you have a Gillette aluminium handled Tech and the brush does look like Badger. It could be something like an OMEGA as the shape looks like one of theirs but dont quote me. Other will chime in. For £2.50 you got a bargin. WHere abouts in the UK are you?

hi mate yeh thats my tech i forgot to mention that it didnt come with the razor ive had my tech for a while now. so you would say it is badger then is there anyway to tell the difference between badger, boar etc if it helps it did smell a bit like wet dog before i washed it. im from liverpool but im living in swansea at the moment.

From waht I can recall, broken in boar brushes have tiny split ends. Badger hair doesnt split. It generally very soft both dry and wet. Yours could be something like a Kent pure badger as thats the same colour as my Kent V23. But please dont quote me.

Thanks it's not much but I'm getting there and it does the job as for the brush it's a mystery lol everything is chrome no name of brand or anything hoping someone might know what it is
