Under arm rashes

Hello every one. :) I am looking for advice and help with breaking out in a rash in the under arm area. It happens using an anti-perperiant. It does not matter if it is a product geared for men or women. It does not matter if it is Speed Stick or Seacret. Now when I try a deodorant, well with that I do not get the rash but I sweat with it and start to stink....and must remember to apply it many times a day. The best of the deodorants I have found so far is Tom's natural because I do not break out with it but it does not stop the odor. Any ideas here? Heck I have even tried shaving my under arm hair (which has elped) but still no "cure".

I suppose you could try botox. That is suppose to help people to stop sweating..therevy controlling your odor.

I faced the same issue, and have had success for a few years now with Mitchum's Sensitive Skin variety.

used to happen to me in highschool - only when i used the clear kind of gels/sticks. i switched to a solid and never had a problem after that.

try lemon juice. just cut one in half and rub it in your underarms. It will keep odor at bay all day long. and it will make those rashes go away as well. trust me.

That is an idea. I could check Ride Aid right up the street because they sell Crystal products there. I am also wondering about using my Alum block. I wonder how that would work?

The deodorant stone is the same thing, but cheaper. Save your alum block for your face. The deodorant stone is also antiseptic, and is good for treating that rash. The rash is sometimes caused by bacteria getting onto that area. I've found that I'll get that same rash, usually in the warmer months. The best thing I've found, that for me will knock that rash out in a day or two, is to first wash the area. After a shower works best, and then apply some straight rubbing alcohol right onto the infected area. Yes, it'll sting for a bit, but that usually does the trick. At least it has worked for me, and saves a trip to the DR. or any messy creams and stuff. Doing that once or twice does the trick, and of course using the deodorant stone after the alcohol dries for the antiseptic properties.

I have the same problem. the only brand of anything I have found that works (deoderant or anti-perspirant) is Dry Idea unscented gel. I tried Toms, and some other "all natural" stuff, and it still broke me out. I've probably tried 30 or so different products (scented, unscented, all natural, you name it, I've tried it), and the Dry idea unscented gel is the only one that does not break me out.

All of these are great ideas and I will keep on trying and see what I can find. It is amazing what marketing can do for an item, LOL :). I like the "idea" of all natural products, but I will have to use what works best for me. For example i like the idea of shaving with Kiss my face and using my One Planet bodywash/shampoo but when you get right down to it....Dial cleans better and Arko shaves better. I will just have to find what works for me. One of the reasons I wanted to try an unscented product is so that it does not clash with or cover up my AS's. I want to smell my AS and not by deodorant. I tried those "for men" products as well and they broke me out. :)

I have a bag of oranges in the kitchen :) so i wonder if I could use the juice from one of those as well? I will have to see if I have any lemon juice around.

I got rashes really bad with the anti-perspirant stuff so switched to a couple different ones and I'm currently using arm and hammer fresh with no aluminum and it works but still get some irritation. I'll have to give Mitchum's sensitive a try and try to find some crystals as well.

I use an alum block. Same type that I shave with. Kills the odor much longer than anything else I've ever used. Sweating is a necessary bodily function, anti-perspirant blocks that function. I wear a cotton t-shirt under all of my shirts to take care of excess sweat. Even though I am a heavy sweater, I don't have any issues with my outer shirts getting nasty.

I used to sweat buckets when I used an anti-perspirant and ruined a lot of shirts too. Switching to Speed Stick regular scent deoderant keeps me completely dry and rash free. I think the anti-perspirant clogged up my pores and just made a mess of things in general.
