U.S. Gillettes vs English Gillettes.

We're not saying the British razors shave better , only the quality of craftsmanship of the fit & finish , the mechanics and closer tolerances are superior....I find the 15 & 16 to be very mild and even though one is closed comb , one is open comb , the smoothness of shave is equal on my face...

My observations were totally predicated on mechanics.

Is one better than the other? I really can't imagine the Brits manufacturing anything to the same quality standards as here in the U.S..

Well, if you compared old revolvers, like Adams to Colt, you would find that the Britsish had much higher standards of fit and finish. Early European industrial production faces very different market conditions from US production and tended to have shorter series, lower volume and tighter specs. US production was always more geared to volume. Compare e.g. Japanese and US gear boxes...
