Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
A fictional automobile from an Ian Fleming story (Ian Fleming of James Bond fame) of the same name.

Chitty_Chitty_Bang_Bang_(automobile)_at_Classic_&_Sports_Cars_By_the_Lake_(2010)_01.jpg

Flemings inspiration was drawn from real life. A car made by Count Louis Zborowski in the early 1920's.
Zborowski, an English racing driver and automobile engineer created his real Chitty Bang Bang from a pre-War Mercedes chassis with a six-cylinder Maybach military aeronautical engine that was used to propel a Zeppelin.

Another Zborowski experimental car, the "Higham Special" was modified by John Godfrey Parry Thomas, and actually broke the World Land Speed Record 18 months after the death of its creator.
