Turning the Weber Kettle into a 900 Degree Pizza Oven - Who's Game?

Just get a pizza stone use the indirect heat 450 worked well for my trader joes dough pizza in my gasser. If you make your own dough you might have some more temp play.Just a thought use a cast iron skillet.

I read the article after I posted mine suggestions are laughable at best. In pursuit of pizza perfection I would stick to the plan.
a local metal shop could help,it would be easier to access with a higher spacer than that aluminum piece. Some kind of thermal blanket might help over the top for better heat retention. Keep us posted take some photos.

+1. I use a pizza stone on my 22.5 inch Weber Kettle, and it works great.

DH & I got a dozen* or so bricks from a local supply house - the special kind used inside brick pizza ovens - and just stacked them on top of the wire rack inside ye old Weber gas grill. Doesn't quite get to 900F, but it gets hot enough to make those heat blisters in the dough!

*We didn't need that many, but it was the fewest they'd let us buy!! :001_tongu

edit: We also tried putting the pizza stone in, but the bricks work better/get hotter. Surface area thing, I think.

I wish there was this kind of set up available for the Pro Q barbecues over here, maybe it's time to send them an email

You can melt all the plastic parts on the weber if it gets too hot- don't ask me how I know!
