TTC (close) hiccup?

Hi. I am new to this site am enjoying wet shaving again after a four decade lapse into cans and 'convenience'. I have a long, black handle adjustable Gillette that opens and closes with ease to nearly the end and then arrives at a moderate barrier that takes a bit more juice to close to the end point. Is this normal or a hiccup? Should I close only to the first softer barrier? I'm getting very good shaves with it all the way closed but from a tech view I am curious if this needs some tweaking or if I should just leave well enough alone.

I believe all the Gillette adjustables tend to go about a quarter turn past were the first hit resistance. I know the Fatboy and Slim do, yours is the Super Adjustable and I sold mine but IIRC it the same. If I'm wrong someone more knowledgable will be along!

It's normal :thumbup1:

Yep. It's supposed to do that. The adjustables go about an extra quarter-turn past "closed" to make sure the adjustment doesn't slip during operation.

Thanks for the experienced advice. Appreciated. Now the hunt begins for a Fat Boy. I can see how easy it is to get into this....
