Trying to get into using a hobonichi like planner

I want to start using a planner on a daily basis. I'd like to use it in 3-4 ways.

1) A habit planner ( place to try to plan out new habits)
2) A schedule (place to both put important dates, and to plan out the day/week)
3) A notebook for reference (for phone numbers, lists, ideas)
4) A journal ( probably more of stream of consciousness than earlier today type)

The hobonichi techo stuff seems appealing to me, but it's August and from what I've seen it's an annual planner. So three questions:

1) Can anyone reccommend a quarterly planner that is similar to a hobonichi techo annual one?
2) Are there any planners/journals similar to hobonichi techos that people like?
3) Are there any planners better than hobonichi techo for the 4 uses I listed above?
4) Are there any resources anyone would reccommend to get better at using a planner? Kind of how to use one effectively?

I personalized the bullet system for my needs and do everything in one book. Might be worth a look if it’ll work for you

The upside is, as you play with it and refine it to your needs, you can build your version in any book. You just have to do the initial set up and structure with a new book

I've been using a Travellers Notebook for the last six or seven years, and I love it. I have three sections in it:
  • 6-monthly notebook: left hand side is the day of the week, right hand side is square lined. I write my appointments on the left and tasks on the right.
  • A dot notebook: for each appointment, I write the corresponding page in the dot notebook so I have an index for all the notes I take in meetings.
  • An unlined notebook at the back: I use this for free form stuff, non-work related notes or random scribbling
When I finish a dot notebook, I write the dates it covered on the front and archive it. Same with the monthly notebooks, To look back I simply have to pull out the correct planner, and see what page the notes for that meeting are on. Never fails.
