Try as you might

Do any of you have razors that have an excellent reputation, yet try as you might the pair of you just don't get along.

Mine is a dubl duck goldedge, it does have heavy hone wear which doesn't help, but for some reason we seem to be talking a different language.

I can get a close shave with it, but it's not my best neither.

Anyone else have similar findings?

I've had 2 or 3 Boker's that just didn't seem to take an edge to my liking.

I think its all about having the right hone for the razor, not a single stone can handle all the different steels out there.

Sharpness isn't the problem, it's how it works with me, it feels kinda sticky, i think dubl ducks use quite a soft steel, least that's how i see it.

Besides i've plenty of stones.
