Trumpers Skin Food as pre shave treatment

An SA in a store told me about this. I've tried it a couple of times. But today put some on 10 minutes before shower. Took shower and shaved.

Seemed like one of the smoother shaves I've had in awhile. Some of the tougher neck areas seemed a bit easier to tame.

May have been discussed before, but has anyone else had success with this?

I actually used the small samples I had of it as a post shave treatment, instead of pre shave. I've seen many posts of people using it for both. Was 10 minutes before the shower the prescribed method?

Yes, I use Trumper's skin foods as a pre-shave as well as AS balm. Great stuff, especially when using Trumpers shave soap or cream.

More or less, yes. 10-15 minutes before shower. (Not to be confused with rubbing on face, then applying shave cream.)

I'll try this a few more times and see. Today may not have been the fairest test. I shaved later than usual which can also be helpful. But I will repeat to see if those trick spots were indeed somewhat tamed by this. I've done this before but wasn't paying as much attention. Seemed to notice it this AM.

I love the skin food post shave. This may increase my usage rate.

I did this daily recently until I finished the bottle. I applied it just before lathering and it worked very well. It was not as good as Castle Forbes Pre-Shave, but did help protect against irritation.

Having tried the Skin Food pre-shave routine a couple of times then going a couple of days without, I pretty much concluded it does make a difference this AM.

It seems to help soften up the rough neck areas that usually require a fair amount of touch up.
