Trumpers Rose VS Sandalwood

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

So if one were to compare the above 2 Trumpers shave cream in terms of lather and scent. Which is better?

They both lather the same. as far as the scents go, that's somewhat a matter of personal preference. Trumper Sandalwood is a lush, smokey sandalwood scent. Their rose is a classic English Rose scent, but be warned that their rose cream is heavily coloured and has been known to stain brushes. If I might suggest, get Trumper's Sandalwood cream and Truefitt & Hill's Rose cream, which is the current gold standard of rose shaving creams.

I like them both a lot. Really it comes to whether you prefer Rose or Sandalwood scent. Lather performance is not different between them.

Inasmuch as the Rose stains shaving brushes, this is correct only insofar as you might see a pink tinge which passes immediately you clean the brush/lather it with some other product.

I prefer the GFT Rose to the Truefitt & Hill stuff.

Both are wonderful creams. As long as you rinse the brush well, you shouldn't have any problem with the GFT Rose.

Others have piqued my interest in the T&H cream, so I may try that once I finish the GFT.

+2, all flavours of GFT seem to lather and shave just a little better than T&H. I started wet shaving using T&H exclusively, now they aren't even in my rotation, which is sizeable and growing. Good product just not good enough compared to the competition. Maybe its the water here...

Rose is a classic, and classy, scent. Rose EO is also soothing and healing on the skin.
