truefitt and hill

I was wondering if the large sample pack from truefitt and hill is worth the money? Anyone ever try it? And how is it? Thanks!

I ordered one awhile ago. It is definitely worth it. Sampling colognes is really only possible when you get them on your skin and sit with them for awhile to see how they develop. While I ended up only really liking one of their colognes, I only found this out by the sample pack. The shaving cream samples last for a couple of shaves, which gives you a good sense of wether you like the scent. The aftershave samples last much longer. I'd highly recommend getting the sampler. And while you're at it, try the Trumper's one as well.

I bought one at the beginning of December and I still haven't gotten all the way through it yet (I have several other items in the rotation though). Each shaving cream sample will probably get you about 3 shaves, and the ASB samples will probably have about enough for 5 shaves or so, unless you really lay it on thick. One tip - a small binder clip will keep the sample tubes from leaking and will slow down the drying out of the contents (but not stop it - my last day with the Limes cream was kind of dried out).

When I ordered, they were out of the "shaving + cologne" sampler, but they easily switched my order to the other. The shipping is almost as much as the cost of the samples though so you may want to get some extras. They come in a nice drawstring velvet-ish bag and would be a suitable small gift or stocking stuffer I think. I was considering getting another to give away with a DE to a friend to get him started.

Anyway, the products themselves are excellent - the creams lather very well and the balms seemed to be great for my face. The 1805 scent is my favorite so far. I think it was money well spent to get to try out their fragrances without buying a big tub or tube. A cheap way to satisfy your SCAD.

It is a superb sampler. With the B&B discount, it is even better! I would highly recommend buying the sampler pack. All of their scents are unique, so it is quite enjoyable.

Ironically, most people ask if a given product by T&H is worth the money, and most of us end up recommending they buy the sample pack to find out. I never thought about whether or not the sample pack itself is worth the money. $15+ isn't the cheapest price for a bunch of smalls packets of product, but it lets you try firsthand nearly all of the mainline products T&H offers. The only major one I see that is not included is the shaving soap; otherwise, the pack is pretty comprehensive. Considering what a single one of these full-sized products would set you back - and that it would be wasted money if you found out after the fact that you didn't like it - the sample pack is pretty good insurance against a bad buy.

I bought a sample set during the holidays and it was totally worth it for me. I came in a nice blue velvet drawstring bag and the variety of creams and colognes I received is terrific. I love all the scents I have tried so far. Their pre-shave oil worked exceptionally for me. Had one of my best shaves using it and the Ultimate Comfort cream yesterday. I finished with the Trafalgar ASB, great stuff. It's a great purchase if you are at all interested in trying their products.

Posan, their UK store should ship to you check it out here:

I know this doesn't apply to anyone in this thread but with the Canadian T&H store "coming soon" and shipping from the U.S. one $24 -- even for the $9 sampler -- I cannot justify this. For the same price, and in Canadian currency mind you, I can order a tub online.

It's too bad, though, about our T&H online store. I tried searching here and on Google but may have missed the answer: Does anyone know if the store is, indeed, "coming soon"?

In my experinece from July 09, the B&B discount code is NOT valid for the samplers.
The cart will accept it and deduct it from your total, but they called me to say it is not valid for the samplers.

Even with that, IMHO it is still worth it.

I thought it very worth it. The creams are great, lasting 2-3 shaves, and the ASB's lasting longer, approx. 5 shaves. I really ended up liking the Trafalgar and Grafton scents, and the velvet drawstring bad now doubles as cologne sample holder or as a bad for my Fatboy when I travel. I also found some discount code (whether it was the B&B or another one I don't recall) that knocked the price down, which especially made it worth it.

Where can I find this discount code?

In my opinion it is worth the money.
You can have the chance to try the complete line of products they offer and eventually place an order on those you like more.
Truefitt & Hill are top shelf products, or if you prefer some of the best in the world.
I always keep them in my rotation.
