Trio of Wiborgs

I gave my first Wiborg a shot in the dark, not knowing how they perform...and they are actually great little brushes!

Here's my Trio of Wiborg

Wiborg Finest 2-Band
Amber Yellow
27.25/49.75

Wiborg Manchurian
Faux Horn
29.1/44.5

Wiborg Manchurian
Faux Ebony
28.3/47.8

Great trio. Thanks for sharing the pics (and dimensions)

Of the three, which do you find most satisfying for face lathering? Based solely on the dimensions, I'm guessing the faux ebony.

The Wiborg perform well. They aren't ones I regularly go to...but I'm partial to Simpsons.

The Wiborg Manchurian are cloud-like soft. They feel super soft and pillowy...but they are a little on the floppy side. Granted, I am used to Simpsons Manchurian and 2 band. But they just don't have a ton of backbone. The lack of backbone and the presence of a bit of flop make way for a very soft facial experience.

I primarily use soaps when shaving, and so the Wiborg Manchurian don't whip up lather as quickly. The backbone issues aren't enough for me to scrap the Manchurian...it just keeps them in the cabinet more than some other brushes.

So, to answer your question about how many uses...not a whole lot.

The Finest 2-Band has a touch of scritch, good backbone, and good flow. These are packed less dense than M&F, Simpsons, and Rooney that I have. However, their 2-Band does perform well. It's good with soaps, and the handle ergonomics make it nice for bowl lathering or face lathering.

Here's kinda the way I look at it:

Finest 2 Band = Touch of Scritch, Good Backbone, Good Flow, Overall Good performer
Manchurian = Pillow Soft, Mid Flow, Hints of Floppy, Great with Creams

What I like about Wiborg is their design...you can't get anything looking like this with any other manufacturer. They really are cutting edge, bringing a really fresh look to some good brushes.

Yes, I would say the faux ebony is good for face lathering. It's super soft, yet a bit floppy.

I would like to try them but their sizes are a little bit unreasonable to me. 24x50???? Looks like they're about 30mm and up!!!

Thank you for the report and specific details. It seems I better stick with my Simpson and Rooney two bands.

It quite strange to see a 28-29mm knot set at 44-47mm loft and still be described as having a hint of floppiness! I would have said that Faux Horn would have had a tonne of scrub! Thanks for the reviews, I really was drawn to the Wiborg range but I think I'll tread water a bit before bagging one.

Thanks

They do make some very nice looking stuff! Logo is a bit large for me though

It's different, and definitely for everyone. I do really love their large logo design.

They do offer some with smaller typeface and different looks.

One thing is for sure...They make a really cool looking shaving brush!

Their imitation horn finest is calling my name, and I must resist. I really like my Manchurian, but I'm a larger fan of my Rooney 2xl.

Nice pickups. They sell out very fast after going up on the website :)

I love my black w/ white ring Manchurian, but I may be putting it up for sale soon :(

I get it. I have also sold a number of excellent brushes (including two Wiborgs) because I owned very similar brushes that, for one reason or another, I preferred.
