I know it has its fans, but I never understood the appeal. It was the last product I used before I started wetshaving. I thought it was OK, but nothing special. I used it brushless and it clogged up my cartridges. I think Alba makes a similar product though.

Not sure but I THINK that Alba and the Trader Joe's products are the same, just branded differently.

+1 to that comment. I tried it, and it totally gummed up my M3 cart. The good news: I brought it back to TJ's, and they apologized and gave me a full refund.

All better. Our Whole Foods carries the ALBA brand name version. Same ingredients. Life is good.
Trader Joe's is very quick to drop things that don't sell. We used to get their frozen breaded shrimp and one day.. poof! it was gone.

Too bad. SWMBO uses that one. I guess we'll either have to stock up (I pretty sure our local TJ still had plenty in stock last week), or she will have to get used to the Mango flavor (I assume you mean just the unscented is being discontinued, not the Cream Shave in general).
Oh, and SWMBO and I love TJ (the store) too. I especially like the ginger/oatmeal bar soap (shower soap, not shave soap).

It is gunky, requiring a stream of water to really rinse clean, but I don't consider that to be a fatal flaw. At least it is less gunky that cremo cream which is even more sticky and harder to rinse clean.+1 to that comment. I tried it, and it totally gummed up my M3 cart. Ah, that explains why my store had no stock this evening. I never got to try the shaving cream. How well does it (or the Alba version) lubricate?

To answer a couple replies:
1) Yes, according to our TJ manager, it is only the unscented that was discontinued. Mango was still well stocked on the shelf. And you can always buy the unscented direct from Alba's website www.albabotanica.com
2) I'm not an experienced reviewer, but I'm happy with the lubrication. And that's coming from a fan of olive oil.
