Towel vs. sponge

Do you use a towel or sponge to clean off your blade
wet or dry
what kind and where did you get it
is your sponge natural or synthetic and how do you clean the sponge

Big square synthetic sponge. I couldn't find a circular one like Chimensch uses in his video. I use it wet and rinse it post shave.

I use a big yellow rectangular sponge because I couldn't find Chimensch's round sponges either. I use it damp, with a good rinse and a squeeze post shave.

Large yellow sponge kept wet then rinse and squeeze it dry when finished.

I would cut a towel to shreds and get no rest $brodkavelarg.gif

Do you mean scraping the hair/lather off?
I use the sink for that

For post shave drying I use the white cotton tshirt I just took off

I'd use the sink too, but it would likely only mean that you'd see my razors more often to fix the dings . . . .

I bought a half dozen of these and they are just the thing. He is a member here too - good to keep it in the family. I fold one up and it sits right on the sink. A simple wipe and you are done. Tried the sponge thing for some time but the towel works better for me. Plus I like the tradition of them.

My wife bought them for me for Christmas. It keeps her happy because I don't use her towels.

Rinse under the tap. Dry with towel. If for some reason I don't want to immediately rinse, I use my palm or the edge of my hand.

Nah, I rinse toe down edge down, no chance to ding the edge, at worse you would hit the spine.

This is my method as well. And yellow costco microfiber to dry followed by a gleen towel. None were bought for this purpose but were lying around the house and work great.

Large natural sponge that sits in the sink, 1/4 filled with water, and I rinse it off in the sink after each full pass. At the end I rinse it off in clean running water.

For rinsing lather/whiskers: tap water. For drying the razor off: whatever towel is handy. Washcloth, bath towel. Whenever I'm finished shaving, I fold over a piece of tissue paper to wipe the blade and dry between the scales.
