Torrey 3/4 scale?

Just scored this Torrey from the bay. It was advertised as a 3/4 size razor at 5 1/4" long with a 2 1/4" blade. Anyone else ever hear of such a thing?

A shorty, cool! That is a good looking razor.
It could be the tip of the blade chipped, and they repaired it and just shortened the scales to match.
However, yours looks original, maybe it was a travel razor?

In the description it mentioned it to be a ladies razor. I thought it be pretty cool.

J.R. Torrey made a razor called the "Little Shaver". It was one of the best known factory made short razors. It was sold more as a travel, moustache and trim razor rather than a ladies' razor. The dimensions match your razor.
Harvitz81 sold one on the BST a while ago. Below are the pics from that sale.
Torrey also made an almost identical razor called "The Little Gem". That one was marketed to the ladies and may be what you have. Sorry, no pics.

I had 2 Torrey razors that appeared to be "Factory shorties" although they weren't labeled as such. Great razors though.

From my limited understanding there were several mfgr's that made them. Personally I have a factory W&B that's a factory shorty besides the others I've cut down. They're interesting I think.

Got the razor in today. I am 100% certain this is the same razor as Jim posted, the little guard. It has the same shape on the spine and there is a faint reminder of where the blade guard has been used.

Looks like the guard version to me from the step on the back of the spine. I have one and it is a great little razor, I use it without the guard but I tried it with the guard once and it would work although the guard has to be switched when you swap hands.

I used it tonight and was rewarded with a really good shave. It took a nice edge, some really hard steel.
