Tongue in cheek procedure

I´m new in this and in many things. I´m only 49

What do you think about the using of the tongue to push the skin around the lips upward (and wherever reachable) to bring out as much hair as possible?

For me, this was a great discovery. Really, I'm not saying this tongue in cheek.

Makes sense to me. I do something similar-- for the XTG pass, I puff out my cheeks (one side at a time) as I shave them. Works great.

I've heard of this before, although I don't do it myself usually. Geofatboy comments on this in a video - especially those hollows to either side of the chin (push out with your tongue in those spots).

I use that technique with a straight razor. It helps me a lot.

I do it sometimes. or i'll pull my upper lip over my teeth. works fine either way to shave right under my nose and to tighten the skin.

I, too, am a puffer. I also tend to pull-up and stretch my skin above the sideburns

I think this is one of those few big steps in shaving, the discovery, or realization that you don't need to play it as it lies. Stretch it, pull it, puff it, whatever. Once it occurs to you that you can manipulate the skin to make a trouble spot into no trouble 'tall, you've made a leap in achieving a good shave.

+1 I do all of those things at some point during a shave. I have to--my skin sags like a Charpais dog's.

Agree! This discovery put me in this road, to find shaving as a form of craft, art, or ritual.
