That's why I just gave up on rarer razors. There are too many people paying too much or some faux bidding bs. Since they're the hot new vintage thing, people just seem to be screwing with the market. Maybe when all the craziness dies down I'll persue some rare gems, but for now I'm happy with my humble collection.

That's awesome. I wonder if the seller had any idea it would go for that ? That's a nice one with the leather case. I wouldn't dream of paying over $100 for a razor, but more power to those that can. I hope they can find it in their hearts to donate to charity as well.

A pretty reasonable price for what it is I think. I suspected my bid (third) wasn't going to be enough and that it would end up around the $1500 - $1600 mark so I was pretty close.

If only the first two were not in the market!

The seller is liquidating his collection, I've picked up a few. He has listed a lot and seems to have saved the best till last. He knows what he has but sometimes gets it slightly wrong. I suspect he is pleasantly surprised but not shocked.

BTW - yes, I give more in gifts and donations each year than I've spent in total on razors :)

i was going to bid with 5 secs left then "DAMN IT EBAY!!!!!!!" i had to sign back for some damn reason. i was only gonna bid 1200 tho so i would have lost anyway. im jealous of the person who won the auction. enjoy that razor

i have picked up a good amount of razors from him as well.

Interesting that #1 and #2 have bids within $25 of one another after a massive leap of $500+ from bidder #3.

That is an awesome set and there cannot be many of those left sitting around the planet. Price seems good to me considering the rarity and condition of such a gem. Definitely a collector's piece.
