Today I picked up some Pinaud Musk

My office is moving, so i made one last trip to Atalanta Barber Supply. I Got some staples... (couple of pucks of soap, some Clubman original, and some Proraso red cream).

Then I thought I would try a new AS. I grabbed some Pinaud Musk since Im on a bit of a musk kick. Unfortunately you cant open the bottles in the store. This stuff smells VERY VERY similar to Orginal Clubman.

It provides the same "powdery" feel. Its very nice... but again, too similar to original for me. In time it does dry a litle different on the skin. Almost like a cross between 1/4 Special Reserve and 3/4 original.

If you like original Clubman, and want a VERY slight variation you may like the musk. If you are looking for a tradtiional "musk" best to move it along.

I'd agree that it smells very similar to Original Clubman, but the muskiness pushes it even closer to a more Brut-like scent. I tried this twice and just did not care for it. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't for me. I don't think musk works on me.

Yes; which is not to say she doesn't like Clubman. She just loves musk, and apparently she's better than I am at detecting it.

I do think the musk drys differently than the regular. But out of the bottle they are VERY similar...

I'll have to pick up a bottle to try it. I am a huge fan of Clubman. I haven't worn a musk product since the old speed-stick 'musk' deodorant back in high school. The only time since then that I got a musk product was the Old Spice musk shaving cream, which smelled just like the old deodorant. Of course my wife 'accidently' dropped the shaving cream tube into the toilet and then threw away... so maybe that was some passive/aggressive critique on musk products?
