What's new

TOBS Alert

I'm currently vacationing in London and stopped off at Taylor's on Jermyn Street. I discovered that they're reformulating all their shave creams to be 'Parabens Free'.
All scents have been addressed with the exception of Eton College, and St-James (as far that I was able to see).

I've tried their new reformulated Mr.Taylor and of as good, or better than the old, so there shouldn't be any worries regarding the rest of the family. The new version of Mr. Taylor seems creamier in the tub. The St-James Sensetive Skin (in the black tub) introduced a few months ago is Parebens free so one can guage from that if you've already tried it.

Also to note, the new Eton college will be in a Blue colored tub when the new version is released in 2-4 months as I was told.

We'll see how long it takes to get to North American distributors.

I've never been an advocate of reformulations but this is a good one considering the chemical involved. Good for them, (and us)

If they are making them paraban free it shouldn't affect the soap. That is more just swapping out the paraban preservative for one that is a non-paraben one. And a small amount of the preservative is used as well.

I bought a Mr. Taylor about 2 weeks ago, i went to check it in it says Paraben Free.. i didn't notice the difference!! About the facial scrub it contains Parabens..but i dont like this one very much (smells like "hospital" or something)!

Excellent, where did you get it, online?

That's very good news, since I don't like parabens. Then I will definitely replace my TOBS Avocado in the near future.

I was in London back in April and got a tub of Almond cream that is paraben free. I compared the two ingredient lists and an interesting thing is that the label on the tub from the UK has at least five fewer ingredients listed than my older tubs from the US which do contain parabens. I wonder if this is because of different laws?

Well, paraben free or not, the Almond and St. James creams tend to cause a little burning and redness on my face when I use them. Oddly enough, I had a tub of St. James in 2007 that I used in its entirety that didn't bother me at all. The only newer Taylor cream I can use (which contains parabens) is Lavender. It must be the fragrance oils in the other two they use that don't agree with me.
