Tobacquistitions for August 2013

Last month closed out with a bang! Let's see if we can keep that going. Post up the dog days of summer acquisitions!

Nothing to post right now, but I've got a VERY special shipment that should be arriving in the next couple of weeks!

I didn't have time to get out the good camera, but here's a quick shot of my first new Dunhill. 2012 Shell Briar 3102.

One of my JM gave me a Jamaican cigar some brand called Jamaican Pirates. He says it is good, I'm going to give it a go when I get home tonight.

My wife is getting close to having our third child and I realize how lucky my family is to have these men and women fighting for us. So I spent some time at my B&M putting together some care packages for a few soldiers just to say thanks. I did have a little left over (found some change under te seat) for a small something for me. Lets see if I can make it last a month! Yeah right!

Good for you, man.. those guys are going to appreciate the heck outta that. After a first class move like that, the spare change was well spent.. I bet that tin of Cellar will be extra sweet.

Order from Smokingpipes came in a couple days ago. Based on some reviews of the new Three Nuns, I'll see if I can't wait a year or so before breaking into it. Good luck with that.

Cigars are:

-- Padron 2000 natural
-- Padron 2000 maduro
-- Oliva Serie G maduro
-- My Father Flor de Las Antillas
-- La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor
-- La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Reserva
-- Illusione Epernay Le Ferme
-- Rocky Patel Edge Missile maduro
-- Rocky Patel Vintage 1990
-- Rocky Patel Java
-- Drew Estate Tabak Especial

Nice haul! I can personally speak for the Oliva Serie G Maduro and the LAdC Mi Amor. The Oliva was the first stick that made me say "wow that's tasty" when I started with cigars. For its price point, it an excellent maduro. The Mi Amor is just a really really tasty stick. I think you'll enjoy both of those!

Nice haul! Was this the order that we helped u pick out stuff from?

Yup, IIRC the Illusione and My Father were your suggestions and the Oliva was mentioned by Josh at some point. I actually have the Epernay in my mouth right now, unlit, contemplating a late night/early morning indulgence. Man, I gotta slow down. After this initial introductory orgy of of cigars for the last month or so, I'm hoping to have enough discipline to have just one or two or four on weekends only. I have enough pipe tobac cellared to smoke daily for the next couple of years and that seems like a reasonable consumption schedule. We'll see... I still have 25 or so sticks on my To Try list before I settle on a few "regular" smokes to buy a box or two of. Big thanks to you helpful enablers so far!

I dont think I've ever really settled on a few regular smokes. The problem I've had, is that I came across some that I really liked for awhile, so I stocked up on some of those. Then I find something else, and start trying a bunch of different smokes, and then realize o hey, I really like these too...and then i stock up on those....next think you know your all stocked up on a bunch of different cigars with still more to try. Its a never ending cycle.

Nothing to post just yet (maybe soon), but I have to say - the August acquisitions seem to be pretty awesome thus far. Excellent work, gents.

Well, I guess I couldn't stick with just one Moretti pipe. Even before I received the first one, I knew I had to have this poker.. lucky for me, it came in a few bucks shy of my max bid, so I guess it was meant to be. Looking forward to smoking out of the olive wood pipe.

I was watching that pipe, but I ended up picking up a Tim West from my local B&M. Have you guys ever saw a pipe and was so enthralled by it that you had to have it. And then you get home to realized that you still have a pipe that you haven't loaded up yet?
