So, I just won this on an eBay auction. I was interested only in the mug for the nostalgia, and there were several for pretty cheap, but for having the cap, box, and two soaps, I couldn't resist.

I will definitely use the mug, but should I use the soaps?

Yes use the soaps. If you don’t they will just be thrown away after you die and you will have never known how great they are.

You should use the soaps. That’s what they were made for. You’re not the Smithsonian, you’re a wet shaver. It’s okay to use them guilt free.

I would just display them. Those soaps are lousy compared to what you can use today.

Old Spice is a fantastic soap so use it. If you are someone who likes to display items such as this then start by lathering from the underside of the puck so as to preserve the embossed logo. If you enjoy it and use it up then..... buy another. Nice purchase

I'm sure it is usable. I have had a couple. I have some NOS (new old stock) Old Spice set out for shaving tomorrow morning.

Vintage Old Spice soap is very good, use it! It's a hard soap, it won't go bad on you. I haven't used one in over a decade, but I liked it, and some really experienced folks here think vintage OS is a tier 1 soap.

I still have the mug, I have a tallow Tabac puck in it right now.

It is an ACE 24 mm Silvertip. I had to open the handle opening a bit since it is larger than the original. I have bought a lot of knots from ACE.
