I see that you as a retired sea man know his shaving tools pretty well. I can understand how u feel about the close shave. It is a very well made and heavier razor that requires no effort to give you great results. Why did u have issues putting in the blade? Was it due to design or just anxious hands? (Navy, thanks for serving)The Shave:
Used a Med Prep blade. To me the shave was equal to somewhere between the Tradre OC and the Weber but a little smoother. It's a heavy razor but feels good and has a nice handle thickness for my big paws. As our member said who tested the Razor, it is not an R41 for sure but it's not a Newbee razor either IMO. I had a 99.5% BBS in 2 passes, an admittedly two weepers on the chin (new razor or bad technique), but I have a very, very, very close shave. It's a good looking tool, very well made but I did have to work getting the blade to sit right with the different type of blade holding design. Just have to get use to that. The B&B testers wrote great evaluations, spot on, THANKS GUYS!
