Tip for Ingrown Sufferers

At the suggestion of a member... I invested in a nice shower mirror, used a Gillette Sensor and King of Shaves gel. I haven't had one ingrown in 3 months (knock on wood). The water and steam seem to really soften up my skin and beard enough to avoid even the wimpiest of ingrowns. I also used Proraso without the brush and the shave was nice.

Ah yes, I haven't shaved at the sink in years and years.
i have decided to cut the water off when I am actually shaving, but I find it the only way to shave, hmmmm perhaps I will try shaving in a bath someday.

Yup, 12 year shower shaver and never had issues with ingrown hairs....shower nice and moist as is my face thru duration of the save.

I fill up a small Tupperware bowl and rince my razor in that rather than run the water.

Hmm, I might have to try out this whole shower shaving thing. I'm worried that visibility will be impeded by the steam. And then there is the fact that any mirror in the shower won't be well-lit, so the lighting may be a problem.

The so-called 'fogless' mirrors will indeed fog up. The solution is to splash some warm water on it. In my set up I open my shower curtin while I'm shaving as well as my bathroom door to let some of the steam out and the AC in...that keeps my mirror fog free for the duration. Opening the shower curtin also lets in light so I can see.

I also just had a Can light installed in my shower area and that has brightened things up as well.

I can't deal with all the mess shaving cream/water/hair leaves behind on a sink and basin. In the shower it all stays self contained and just goes down the drain.

Here's my shower setup from an earlier post:
