Tiger Blades...?

Does anyone know anything about these? They are from the Czech Republic, but that is all the info i have. I have tried searching this site, but unless i am being blind (a considerable probability:001_smile) i can't find anything.

I ask as i have received a pack of them in a sampler this week.

Has anyone used them? What are they like? Clearly YMMV, but before i put them to the test, i would like to try and find out whether anyone else has had good results, or ripped their face to shreds with them.

(I originally posted a question about this in the Newbie section - to no avail!)

Many thanks guys,

Tony.

No help to you but like yourself have these in a sampler pack, unused as yet and dont see any info around on them!

So does this mean that in the whole of the B & B community, no one has used these blades? Or have i unwittingly offended you all?

Cheers,
Tony.

I also had one in sampler pack. Used it in my HD. Nothing remarkable or horrifying. I only got about three shaves out of it...

I thought they were very good in my futur -on a par with the Czech-made Gillette Silver Blue.
However I believe they may no longer be being manufactured which is a shame...

Oh, if you don't want them I'll take them off your hands:wink2:

Cheers guys. I think you can still get them at the shop which isn't allowed to be mentioned here - that's where i got the sample from.

I'm going to give them a go - but if i don't get on with them i'll give you a shout Paul :biggrin1: (Though i only have a 5 pack of them)

Tony.

Mine came from the same place. I had 5 but have used one. If you don't like them I'll happily swap for a blade you do like. They appear to be in limited stock....

Righto. I just loaded up with a new Personna Red this morning, and will be away on a course over this next week (probably no conectivity :thumbdown) so will try the Tiger probably next weekend. If i'm not keem i'll give you a shout. PM ok?

Tony.

That'll be fine ...although I'll be on holiday at half-term (Feb 14th-21st).
Enjoy the course.
I suspect you'll like the tiger blades anyway:sad:

There is a review of them and Leon blades which basically says they are junk. I am going to Prague in May and hope to look find some as I need some 3-hole blades for several razors which will not accept current blades (two Wardonias).

Let us know the results of your shave!

I'm pretty sure the ones I've got aren't "3-hole blades". They look pretty much like any other "modern" DE razor blade.

I give them my vote of approval. :thumbup1: I've only tried Wilkinson Sword and Tiger so far, and I much prefer Tiger. They feel sharper and smoother. It's too early to report on their longevity, though.

Like most of you, I don't know where to buy them. I have only the pack of 5 that came with my Parker handle.

Thanks, Chet. As a newcomer to DE shaving, I'm hoping to try a few different blades before committing to a bulk buy, so maybe I'll report back my findings. It feels good to be free of the overpackaged, overpriced, plasticky world of cartridge shaving!
