I have been enjoying Noodler's Black Swan Australian Roses and Air Corp Blue-Black and wanted to try different brands and colors of ink. Here are the three that arrived yesterday from Jetpens (free shipping on orders of twenty five and over).
1. Diamine Red Dragon: the ink is a bit darker than pictured. Very little shading. EDIT: this is my first Diamine ink and wow, it flows so easily and evenly. Very impressed! The characteristics (smooth even flow, almost no shading) of this ink make it ideal for calligraphy. Again the ink is darker than pictured.
2. Rohrer and Klingner Cassia: a vibrant purple with some shading. EDIT: After writing with this ink I am impressed. It has the same characteristics as Noodler's Air Corp Blue-Black. The ink flows easily; the color is beautiful and brightens up the day.
3. Rohrer and Klingner Alt-Goldgrun (gold/green): something wild with lots of shading. EDIT: This ink is more gold (lighter shade) in a 1.5mm nib and a medium green in a fine nib. I filled my Cross Century II medium nib with it and I get both gold and green. I am sure this ink can be great for sketching.
