Thoughts on AoS colognes please?

First post in frags, because I don't usually wear them...
(Background : I have a gift card from AoS and need to buy something from there. A cologne may please the missus while getting me out of a sabbatical bind.)

Looking for up to date thoughts on the AoS Lemon or Sandalwood colognes. most of the stuff I googled seemed to be from 3 or more years ago.
I know YMMV and try a sampler etc, but I thought I'd poll the collective wisdom here before venturing out without a safety net.

I have the AOS Lemon and like it alot. A good summer fragrance, slightly sweet and warm. Lasts quite well, 5-6 hrs at least. I have sampled the Sandalwood and like it also. Will purchase at some point. Smells just like the shave cream. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

I like the Sandalwood, has a nice creamy sandalwood drydown. It opens with a medicinal/eucalyptus note that some don't care for but I like it too.

I've sprayed the lemon on my wrist walking through their store but can't remember enough to say anything about it.

I detect a lean towards the wood. Not entirely sure if I'm allergic to sandalwood, but I'll test to find out....

So, and here's a YMMV question if ever there was one, are they worth the 75 smackers?

The Sandalwood is excellent.

I agree. It said to be an Australian rather than, say, a Mysore, sandalwood. Not that I would necessarily know, except that Mysore is mighty rare and dear these days. (I am not sure I really approve of using threatened with extinction trees for scents anyway.) In any event, the AoS sandalwood seems excellent to me.

I do not have much recollection of the lemon either. I would guess that there are more pleasing lemon or at least citrus-based scents around, but it may well be a pretty good pure lemon scent.

I prefer the Lemon. As mentioned above, too much eucalyptus in the Sandalwood for my nose.

To me the sandalwood is worth it... I would have bought it already, but SWMBO said to leave something to buy me for a gift :/

Sandlewood is good... not as good as the lemon.

I don't think a gift card would violate the sabbatical- you're not really buying something, someone already bought it for you, technically!

Ah, I've already laid out my "yerrrrrout!!!" reasoning in the sabbatical thread

Looks like Sandalwood is winning by a nose, but Lemon could be good too.
I'll try to sample this weekend see what works for me and SWMBO. Glad to hear that they are worth the $$$

I'd go with the sandalwood. The lemon smells pleasant, but the sandalwood is really excellent.

A lot of good sandalwoods out there... personally i haven't found that many good Lemon... at least ones that last more than a few hours.

I have a hard time believing that the lemon AOS cologne lasts more than a few minutes (based on the cream and balm)

Tried the lemon, not bad but I already have AdP. So I bought the Sandalwood, smells exactly like the cream and balm.
