LOL! That's funny. I had no idea, but I'm not surprised. A friend remarked to me yesterday that it's sad when you can't tell Onion headlines from real headlines, and this was the first thing I thought of.

The Onion parody seems to get mentioned here a lot. I also remember the SNL "Triple Trac" parody mentioned in the wiki. Wish I could find it on YouTube. The thing that doesn't come across in the transcript is how closely it followed the Trac II commercials of the time. It was totally convincing up until the final line "because you'll believe anything". Of course, that was before there even were three blade razors.
