What's new

This one, or that one?

So I am considering a second brush. I have a medium EJ BBB which has been great. But, I would just like a second comparable brush to rotate.

I am considering the Simpson Special shown here:

Or, the Rooney Special shown here:

Price is almost identical so that is not an issue. Although the Simpson is best like my EJ and the Rooney is Pure. I have never had a pure before so I don't know how I will like it, although I here Rooney has impeccable construction. This brush would be predominatly for soaps with the occasional proraso or Tobs use. I love my BBB but to be honest would not mind if this next brush was a touch scrubbier. I don't want anything floppy either. Backbone is good. And I am looking for one that lather hogs a little less then the EJ. So which would you pick and why?

I've owned the Rooney Pure brush before and compared to my EJ BBB it was pretty prickle. If you face lather and have sensitive skin, it might get a little sore from the cut tips of the pure brush. I've owned Simpson brushes in Best badger and they are about the same as the EJ Best. So go for the Simpson Special.

For not an awful lot of money more you could get a Rooney super badger, and I think you'd be much happier with the super. Don't forget a good brush like that will last a good long time. As you get going with wet shaving you'll probably be getting more than one shaving brush anyway. IMHO one is better off getting quality gear right from the start. :w00t:   :thumbup1:
