Thinking of upgrading cnat to shapton ceramic 12k

hi all. I currently use lapping films for honing up to 8 k. I then finish on a chat. My question is I'm looking for a budget upgrade. Is the Sharpton ceramic 12k a good upgrade, or am I better off saving up for a better finisher. I'm new to stones so the cnat Is my first.

Some questions about the CNAT.
Do you ever use slurry with the cnat?
What is it finished to 600/800/1000?

what are you looking for as far as an edge?

Right now I use films to 8k and finish on cnat. So looking for finisher. I only have 2 straights to maintain so just need to refresh edges on occasion. I've been using films for a while and am looking to transition to stones as budget allows.

IMO the 12k Shapton Pro or Karamuco is not a finishing stone and needs to be followed with something. It leaves a harsher edge than the Naniwa 12k.

I do have balsa and diamond paste I sometimes use to finish as well. Depends on the mood.

Ask me about shaving naked!
The Naniwa 12k is fine. If you want a budget Shapton upgrade, try the 0.85u G7 (16k)
