Thiers Issard Brushes

Who makes em? I just saw them on the CS website and it says "These brushes are made exclusively for Thiers-Issard" and I wondered who makes them for TI is it Plsson which is what I immediately suspected that this was who it would be but I'm not sure so I have come to you guys for help :thumbup1:. If you do know anything about them then please chip in like what grade of the OM's is TI silvertip equivalent to etc?

Regards Grant

Grant, I have one of the recent, stiff ones (not one of the early floppy ones) in the larger of the two sizes with black horn handle: the loft seems identical to a Rooney silvertip in shape and high density, it came in the same red box that Rooney uses and the inscription on the bottom is in English (somewhat unusual for French products including Plisson?). But doesn't matter who made it, it's a great brush! Michael PS the handle is hefty solid horn (unlike the hollowed out and light Plisson horns).

Thanks Michael I think on what you said they probably are Rooney's but which silvertip grade is it Super normal finest? Hmm I also wonder that why they offer genuine horn but Rooney don't?

Thanks Grant

Come on B&B! Does anyone else have anything else to say about TI Brushes Good, Bad, Ugly? Anything you know I'm interested in.

Regards Grant

Sorry, TI is one of the few I haven't tried. I like the looks but have never used one. You're probably just going to cause my SBAD to flare up! :w00t:

Wasn't my intention at all mate :whistling: :devil2:. I mean it's not like they're anything special just a Rooney with an even more legendary name attached and a genuine horn handle, I see nothing special there :001_tt2:.

I have been using a Plisson for over ten years and recently go a Kent H 8 and a Simpsons C2 that are much better at producing lather and application to your face. If the TI is a Plisson, the price is high in my opinion. If it is a Rooney then why not just buy a Rooney?:thumbup1:

What Plisson do you have? I was under the impression that a Silvertip Plisson was significantly more than any other brush of the size? P.s I have taken your advice before it arrived and bought a 1/2 Rooney Finest in horn :w00t::w00t::w00t:!
