What's new

There's a grenade in the room and the Noob is JUST ABOUT to pull the pin out

OK - not as bad as that

BUT - (here we go) - the line of text . . . . that . . . appears . . . (I'm gonna ask it)

Underneath your "name" . . . appears to change

Now

I'm on "another" forum I'm on - this is reserved for the Mods or Admin to "grant an appropriate tag line"

Often to the amusement of others and the embarrassment of the poster in question

Often "amusing" tag lines get granted when a Noob asks . . . . a question . . . . about . . . tag lines

I've done a quick search to see if this subject (and subsequent amusement) has cropped up before - NO TAG LINE threads

so, I'm assuming that the changing tag line is a fairly harmless, benign even, feature that just happens and they are changed on a regular basis OR there's some setting that enables me to put one in myself

be gentle . . . please

OK - so half right - this place, in fairness, seems to be, slightly less "robust" than other unrelated site I frequent and I am happy with being in M3 Remission - and long make this state continue

Coomon question. The tag line changes with your post count. I don't know if that is random or automatic. I'm sure there is some sort of method or pattern. Just keep posting and watch your tag change. As for the benign nature, that's because B&B is a place for gentlemen. (But if you act otherwise, you may get a "customized" title!). It's all in fun!

The custom titles given by the moderators are all in great fun, if sometimes embarrassing to the recipient. The origins aren't always obvious, but it's entertaining trying to track down their source.

(I got mine from a post in The Nib (our fountain pen sub-forum) when I made a comment about my meager collection of inexpensive pens.)

The search feature is a little funky. You cannot search for any word with less than three letters. So, "tag" would not work as a search term. OTOH This google search yields tons: "tag lines" site:badgerandblade.com

In general, I use the site specific google search on B&B.

Well, that's something I've learned today - thanks for that - I'll get the hang of this interweb yet

And for those who are internet challenged, you can just tack on a "+badger" to the end of your search (minus the quotes of course) and the vast majority of the time a B&B thread (or 12) will be the top result.
