Theory on spraying

If goal is to enjoy scent for self, I would say 1-2 sprays to upper chest good (this is what I do).

If goal is to create a scent aura for others to notice, I was thinking obviously more sprays but not too close to own nose. For me I get fatigue and maybe even irritates my allergies/sinuses if too many sprays. But if place for example one or two on lower chest / upper abdomen, 1-2 on back, etc to get that aura.

Thoughts? Don't want this thread to be re: offending others and respecting space and about don't care what others think. Wondering best strategic locations for scent aura as you love about.

Pulse points help to project the scent.
Wrists, neck, chest are all most effective.

Mom always wore her perfume, one "finger" behind each ear, and another on the wrist, the rub them together. She never smelled too strong.

Personally, I prefer atomizers, and it's one spray to each side of the neck on the collar line, and one shot to the center chest.

I spray my chest and tops of my wrists. I like it on my wrists so that I can smell the fragrance on myself whenever I want. I wear fragrance primarily for myself, so I want to be able to smell it on demand. I don't feel like I can do that if I only sprayed my chest.

If your a taller gentlemen I would spray a shot or two on your lower half. Me personally I try to do most of my sprays on exposed skin ie neck, upper chest.

I like the hug rule, i.e., someone should only smell what you're wearing if they are giving you a hug or within hug distance (whatever that means).
I just do the wrists and behind ears like cb91710 describes the way his mom does it.

Never tried the chest . . . might give it a go.

+1

I do a shot to either side of the neck/head (where a persons face would be if they hug you) and one on the back of my neck (nape) if I really like the scent ill give it a shot on the wrist and rub them together so that I can smell it whenever I want.

Have read and tried with success that for longevity one should spray your clothes. I have found one shot to the t-shirt (worn under my dress shirt) lasts all night when we go out to the symphony. That is in addition to two shorts to the chest and one to each arm.

I spray one wrist then touch my other one with it. I've been told not to rub wrists as it may alter the fragrance... Not sure if it's true (probably not).

I then do two more sprays : one on each of my flanks.

It's crazy : when I did only one spray on the chest, I was quite strong smelling IMHO (or was the perfume just "closer to my nose"?) and since I do take a pretty crowded bus in the morning, last thing I want to do is to overpower people. But, now I do one spray on each flank. This means I apply more perfume (an additional spray. It increases a bit the longevity for me), but the smell is way more subdued.

Just a few inches lower and such a huge difference in projection!

Sharpen that is exactly the kind of thing I was thinking to not overpower my own nostrils or others but to have a scent aura. I will try either on abdomen or on flanks.

Perfume?! Personally, I prefer cologne... or eau de toilette.... por homme... Perfume is not something I own personally.

"Perfume" or "Parfum" only refers to the concentration of the fragrance water; further, since they are inanimate objects, scents lack gender.

Well, I natively speak French, and in my area, the French word "parfum" means a fragrance in general, wether it be EdT, EdC or EdP or cologne!

I probably just translated "parfum" wrongly to "perfume" when I wrote my previous post, not knowing it may have a different meaning in English ;)

I guess I should have said "fragrance"?

The more sprays but away from the nose is working well for me last two days. have tried the one to each flank plus one to a single wrist then dab to the other. Can get good scent aura, not overpowering, and not assaulting my own nostrils like two sprays to the upper chest can sometimes do.

I usually go for one or two sprays to the wrist, applying extra to the neck from the wrists as these areas get the most air exposure of you skin. Then if I needa little boost in scent I usually spray up in front of my and then walk through it for a more subtle feel.

Then again I am pretty self conscious about being overpowering. I'm taking notes from the rest of y'all as I read and may have to try some of these suggestions

I usually like just 1 spray to the chest as well. I can generally catch a whiff of it during the day and you have to get really close to me to smell it. SWMBO feels this is good for me although it seems she can smell just about anything from a mile away so I could probably use a bit more without offending anyone else. Sometimes just 1-2 sprays in the air and walk under works, but I find that I can't really catch a whiff of anything later in the day with that method. It does seem to depend on what I'm wearing too though. I can use 2-3 sprays of Chrome and it doesn't seem to stand out much, but the same amount of GIT or Aventus is too much....this is all per SWMBO, my 2 daughters and a couple of ladies in my office as I don't trust my own nose and would hate to overwhelm any of them with my scent.

I use one spray on my chest. On on my wrist, then rub the wrists together and then rub the wrists on my neck below the ears. Occasionally I will put a third spray on my undershirt.

These are full size sprays. I've been known to spray like crazy with a sampler and still not get enough.
