The shaving iPod

Yeah, really......don't you hate a "one-post wonder"?

Or the assumption that we're too stupid to question someone randomly showing up and pretending that they're some unbiased source who just happened to find the B&B, find a thread on the Rolling Razor, and felt obliged to comment. Ugh.

Yeah, but what about that two-post wonder? I'll give him an 'A' for effort.

Watch Maurice Green Shave - yeah, that's just what I want to be doing on a Tuesday evening.

Jeez...OK, either I'm a masochist, or I'm just a slut for a chance to smirk at bad marketing, but I watched it. Holy crap. I guess that Dancing With the Stars thing didn't work out so well for him.

Why are you slagging off the ipod by comparing them to the Rolling Razor? The ipod is a useful bit of kit, though I have a Creative Zen myself! I carry my entire record collection around in the car.

I was about to write this thing off, but then I looked at the website. All I got to say is, if it's good enough for the Jonas brothers, it's good enough for me :w00t:

Sorry, there's no shaving foam in the handle and how often do the Jonas brothers shave? I'm sticking with the cream filled disposables!

I barely use my car CD changers any more.

Getting a little off topic, but...

When I replaced the stock tape deck in my car, I skipped CD's and installed a head unit that's just a radio receiver and iPod controller (reads thumb drives and any USB music box, too.)

Not a bad idea. Where's your iPod dock located? In one car, I replaced the stock changer with an Alpine touch screen head unit, which includes a single CD/DVD player, and added an iPod dock which routes to the glove comparment. That way, I can plug in a full-size iPod and keep it fully out of sight; it is fully controllable by the Alpine deck. In my other car, I kept the stock changer/head unit, so used a PanaVise dash mount for the iPod. This allows me to control the iPod directly, since trying to do so through the head unit doesn't work so well. In both cases, I still wanted CD players, so I can put on music my friends might have with them, or play a new CD I just bought and haven't transferred to my iPod yet. But like I said, I rarely use them.

The USB interface is a wire in the center console (80's BMW - nice pocket at the base of the center dash) and it also has a second iPod interface in the glovebox. Through USB, the unit will display album art, the other iPod interface is for the older iPods (I have a 4gb MINI, a 30GB Classic/Video, and a 1st gen 8GB Nano.) That way I don't have to go digging in the glovebox to take it with me. It's the iDA product line from Alpine.

I like that. I wish my touch screen Alpine did that...but then again, given the size of the screen, maybe they deliberately don't want to provide drivers with visual distractions. Also, the iPod doesn't dock via USB.
