My wife has always loved the original polo green on me. I dont know if it is because it was what I was wearing the night we met or not. I want something new and updated but similar, any suggestions? Keeping the price closer to $50

This. An updated more modernized version of Polo, but still retains the same vibe. Its said to be marketed toward the sons of fathers who love the original Polo. It's good stuff, but not as good as the original.

Another possibility for you is Kiehl's Pour Homme Essence Oil. It's a roll-on, but the scent is good and I think pretty close to what you are looking for, and the price, at $26 for a small roll-on bottle that will last a long time, fits easily in your range.
