The first time clean face

I'm still new to this old style of shaving. When I was a teen it felt cool when the first tiny things showed up in my face. i started to feel like a man. But at the same time my problems started, my face didn't like razors or machines. My life was full of razorburns. So a few weks ago I saw a video on youtube about wetshaving and felt, why not? Lurking around, watching videos and asked lots of stupid questions. I started with a Mühle R106 (the black version of R89), Mühle brush and some Proraso products. For the first time in 35 years I could shave without screaming, "Don't touch my face". But I wanted the babysmoth face that most girls like. So my hunt wasn't over. Reading even more I felt that the Merkur 37C slant bar could be fun. Took me a while to get one and ordered some Feather blades to go with it. Imagine a hot knife going though butter. After a three pass shave I finally had that smoth face, still ugly though, as I had 15 years ago.
Maybe I should try to find another one with OpenComb and see if there is any difference. But to start with I'm hunting the Proraso products and Rapira blades (Platinum Lux, Swedish Supersteel, Voskhod and Ladas in Eastern Europe

Sounds like you're doing great, my friend. Be careful about mentioning open combs, though...you'll get a knock on your door in the middle of the night from the BOTOC crowd.
