While gazing at my collection of the two mentioned companies, it suddenly hit me.
Gillette started out as an all metal razor, and slowly added rubberized coatings, and finally plastic to their razors.
Schick went the opposite route, bakelight, plastic, type-N plastic/metal, and finally the type-O almost entirely stainless steel.
