The Brown Leaf virtual herf

I think it might be fun for us, in the BL, to get together and have a virtual smoke/drink. It's going to take some time to figure out how this will work best, but it has to start somewhere right?

So here's the plan:

Someone will post a time and date for a virtual herf. Then, whoever would like to participate, would show up at that time and date and join in on the fun. This will be sort of a live chit chat between the members involved. We can have as many of these as we like, or as popularity dictates. Once we get a few of these under our belts, we can tweak them to best suit everyone involved.

Maybe we should keep this thread for discussing herfs and start new ones, with dates, for each herf.

Do any of you have ideas on what could/would make them better? I know someone has mentioned doing it at a specific time. Ed also asked if we should just use one thread for all of them or keep starting new ones with dates and or times.

I still think a new one for each, at least initially, makes sense. Specific time doesn't really make a lot of sense, since most will just join if/when they are able.

I like the date idea. The time thing was mentioned by another member to sort of organize a general time to get together. More of a Google + thing, but I'm not sure it will translate to a thread on this site.

I started this thread for discussions just in case the actual herf threads are locked. There are some discussions in both, right now, and I appreciate your comments.

Don't worry about the herf thing James, I had to look it up too. I thought I was the only one who didn't know the term LOL.

Found this explanation: The un-official word of ASC is Herf. Herf is a unique part of speech. It can be correctly used as a noun, a verb, an adjective, an adverb, an infinitive, a prefix, a suffix and an explicative. The arcane word “herf” first entered the ASC lexicon on November 21, 1996, and was quickly elevated to frenetic and common use by ASCers. The Prince of Skeeves (aloys…@gte.net) exposed ASC to the word herf in a casual posting to the group… however it was ASCers, as a budding collective, who took the word and made it divine. Herf is now virulently spreading to worldwide common use as hip cigar parlance.
