The Best Soap On The Planet

It has taken me years and hundreds of pounds to find the best shaving soap on the planet and now my quest has ended.
The Best believe it or not is ( drum roll ) Palmolive shaving stick.
Now your probably thinking that i have gone well and truly mad, how can a soap costing 55 pence be better that soaps costing £20.00 and above. IT IS!!
I have used all the major players in my quest from L'occitane, Trumpers, Taylors,MWF, etc etc etc. And none were as good as this fantastic soap.
I used to walk past the isle in the supermarket and see all the Palmolive shaving sticks and wonder why people bought such a cheap product and wonder why they didnt spend that bit extra to get quality. Now I know.
Decided to buy one yesterday and having used it i would rate it as:
10/10 in Moisturising
10/10 in Price
10/10 in slickness
10/10 Latherability
Tallowtastic!
Price does not bother me, i am willing to spend good money on good products. I would pay 20x the price for this soap!
Now i am wondering what to do with all my other soaps as thet are now redundant.
IF ITS THE ONLY THING YOU DO THIS WEEK BUY ONE, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

As you frequently see around here YMMV. What's important is that you know what the best is for you. Congrats!

Wait ... I'm confused. I thought Cedarfurnitureman's soap was the best soap on the planet?

EDIT: You're right, the Palmolive stick really is good stuff.

I agree completely.

It offers astonishing performance for the price! I was put off cheap sticks by trying the horribly over-rated Erasmic first. Cheap smelling, horrible, quick drying lather, no lubrication.

Recently I bought a stick of Palmolive, just for a laugh, and tried it.

It blew me away! Almost, almost, as good as Tabac, for a fraction of the price.

I used Tabac stick between the cans of goo in the past and I liked it. Then I bought Palmolive stick and it was a step back because it was harder to face lather.
I found it back some months ago somewhere in the basement and it was very dried up (must be more than 5 years old) and then I grated it and now I'm using it as a soap and the results are indeed very good.
The scent faded a bit, but it is still smelling the same.

Now i am wondering what to do with all my other soaps as thet are now redundant.

I'm so disappointed in L'Occitane I tell you you can stick that soap where the sun doesn't shine. :001_smile

The Palmolive stick performs way above its price-point. I agree that it is simply an exceptional product. Definately worth putting into your shave kit.

It is very good soap, especially for the price. I will still happily pay more for top shelf soaps whose scent I like better.

Palmolive is great, and the Valobra stick may even be a little better...

any thoughts from those who have used both?

Kinda my thoughts.

What does the Palmolive stick smell like?

What does the Palmolive stick smell like?

Let me counter that question with 'What is art?'.
It is one of these soaps where it is very difficult to describe the scent.

It is not overpowering, mild, clean, manly, ... but this is probably not of any help I suppose?

I love it when a Yorkshireman foregoes either of two (originally) Yorkshire enterprises and it costs him money....

Your same Palmolive stick is currently 46p in Morrisons and Asda (and Tesco I think - but they're not Yorkshire folk )
